2.      Our Focus 2004 - 2005

a.       Assess needs of teachers and students in reading and writing strategies and skills

b.      Assess effective instructional strategies for all content areas

c.        Determine necessary reading and writing skills in content areas by department

d.      Determine reading strategies that will bolster comprehension in each content area

e.       Share reading and writing strategies with teachers

f.        Share effective instructional strategies with teachers

 

3.      Review of Relevant Materials from 2004 - 2005 Sessions

            4.  Brainstorm Possible Goals and Objectives for 2005 – 2006 Sessions

                        a.  Speak to students and teachers to further assess needs

c.  Create active learning/teaching strategies guide for teachers to  

      implement and assess

d.      Create planning tools/tips guide for teachers to assist in implementation of reading and writing strategies

e.       Assist in the direction of instruction for Freshman Academy

f.        Direct methods of effective instructional strategies into classes

 

5.  Plan October 2005 Meeting and Agenda

                        a. Group will meet on October 24, 2005 from 3:00 – 4:00 in room 222

                        b.  Group will discuss materials handed out

                        c.  Group will share gathered strategies and materials

d.  Group will focus goals and objectives and plan next steps
