Present:  Donna Bartolucci, Tom Treece, Nancy Lynn, Jesse Carpenter, Nancy Pope, Sue Chickering, Shaun Driscoll, Joseph Keifer, Lola Noyes

 

Meeting began 7:30 in room 6

 

Joseph offered information on what is happening in other communities.

Brainstormed goals:

1.      Encourage healthy values/lifestyle changes.

2.      Engage students and community.

3.      Offer low-cost and quick healthy taste-testing with recipes

4.      Present visual information on impact of diet ( ? assist of Sylvia Gaboriault of CVMC)

5.      Provide fun/entertainment via musical offering/drama club presentation/sports teams/arts

6.      Start small – “less is more”

 

What do we want to do:

            “Walk to school day”                            hunger banquet

            wellness day/week                                super-size-me offering

            One page handout/flyer             engage peer groups                  

            Multi-faceted engagement

 

When:  Tuesday, April 11th (Nancy Lynn will check with Beth Bicknell to see if date conflicts with other school activities, Tom Treece will talk with student council/class officers to engage students)

 

Who’s involved and how to get info out:

            One page flyer to colleagues

            Friday Show

            Student groups

            School newspaper

 

Next meeting: Thursday, March 9th, 3-4:00pm in room 6

            Purpose:  Plan for Tuesday, 4/11/06 event and what that will look like with student involvement.
