Notes of Graduation Committee Meeting:4/5/06


~ Dueto Bev Scofield’s absence we tabled the photography independent studypresentation until our next meeting.

~The committee examined an article from the FreePress concerning Mt. Abraham’s senior project / independent studyprograms and their relationship to the “High Schools on the Move”initiative. One item of particular interest was the resulting decrease indropout rates (from 25 to 8 percent) since the program began in2005.

~A refined draft of the P.E./ Sports creditapplication and process guidelines was adopted for use in the fall. Theprevious version will continue to be used for the spring season.
The committee hopes that thefall and winter credit applications will be forwarded to us soon.

~Randolph Union’s senior presentation evaluation form wasexamined. We plan to use it to critique Meghan and Emily’s pilotcapstones.

~It was agreed that other design committees, includingthe Freshman Academy team, be made aware of our group’s work.

~Jeff asked the committee to prepare to brief theboard’s P&C committee regarding the ideas behind the capstone proposal.This is proposed for their June meeting.
