Ms. Douglas's 6th Grade

Ms. Douglas rocks. She is the greatest teacher ever! She is very funny. She is sweet and nice and helps us when we need it . She is not a very fancy dresser but is still very stylish.

Our class is in charge of the school store. We sell school supplies and fun stuff to the other students in our school. We sell during the recess times and sometimes at the beginning of the school day.

We are going to have a penny drop to raise money for the Children's Hospital.  We raise money for the Children's Hospital for supplies.

We change classes this year. We have Mr. Stapleford and Ms. Douglas for social studies. Some of us have Mr. Stapleford for math. Others have Ms. Valcourt, Ms. Douglas, Ms. Elson for math. We go to Ms. Elson's class for science.

In Ms. Douglas's sixth grade, we have 12 kids in our class. We have 9 girls and 3 boys. In our class we have 2 chalkboards, but we use one of them to tape our news reports on. Next to one of them there is a white board also. In the back of the room we have a bookshelf and we have a couch and a chair. We also have a blue table that we call the island. On the island we keep the homework basket. We have all of our desks switched around in different ways. Ms. Douglas's desk is in the front corner of the room. Ms. Douglas teaches  reading, social studies, writing, math to some sixth graders, also social studies and science to the 5th grade.

Ms. Douglas is very interested in Vermont history. This year, we have students in our class that are participating in History Day. This year, the topic is about communication. We have to do some research using primary resources and then present either with a paper, a display or a play.

This year we are  going to Canada. We will go to the Hard Rock Cafe. We stay there for three  days in a hotel.   We write in a journal every day so that when we get back, we make a scrapbook and complete the journal. We get to swim and buy things that you can only get in Canada.

This picture is of Mr. Marcus. He is our principal and he is the best principal we could ever hope for! Mr. Marcus is funny and he likes to joke around a lot. When we were in third grade, he used to read to us which makes him sweet.

Being in sixth grade is awesome. We like the field trips, school activities and we like being the leaders of the school!
